Hand-drawn 2d animation done for 181A Intro to Animation at UCLA. The whole process was done traditionally with pencil, ink, and cell vinyl paint on clear plastic animation cells. Final animation was photographed with a DSLR and exported as a movie file on a computer through a special animation program used in the class.

Workspace and Production Photos

Our class was lucky enough to be able to work on traditional Disney animation desks donated to our animation program.

The following photo is of the cell painting process. I set down all of the cells side by side on my bedroom floor to dry.

The following photo is of one of the few camera set ups we had in the class that were used to capture, play, and export our final animations. This was one of the cameras we used for our pencil tests. The camera used to shoot my final animation is similar but has a more advanced set up.
